Living on Ramrod Key, FL

Heading south on US 1 approaching mile marker 27.5 you will cross onto Ramrod Key. Famous for Looe Key and Boondocks Entertainment Center. Ramrod Key offers open water homes to the south east side of the island along with canal homes that offer both open water and wetlands views. On the bay side of the island you can find dry lot homes, boating canals and plugged canals. The best boating being ocean side of the island with a controlling depth of nearly 4 foot.

Ramrod Key ocean side is accessed through Indies Drive and West Indies drive which lies to the east of Indies. Its name is derived from the British West Indies and all the streets that run off West Indies Drive are named after islands in the West Indies. Guadalupe LN, St Vincent, Barbados, St Martin, St Lucie, Tobago, St Croix, Anguilla, Barbuda, Cayman, Haiti and Dominica LN's are all found off West Indies Drive.

The view from the south east shore and boating community on Ramrod faces and exits out upon New Found Harbor making the journey to the reef and mooring buoys in the National Marine Sanctuary a short boat ride.
